MAGAZINES.....

Hey friends! How is everyone today? I'm doing great!! Sun is out on the Island, partly cloudy at times but sun is so warm, it feels great! So, I checked the mail a few days ago and I had 2 magazines in there. Who doesn't love magazines right? I love love love them! From fitness magazines, home decor, food etc. As I got home and went into my office I placed the 2 magazines on my "haven't gone through" shelf, (Yes, I have a shelf for that, because I try to stay away from clutter and like to be organized, some many say OCD : )  ). Anyways, I realized wow I have a lot of magazines I haven't gone through yet. Then I look over to my other shelf, which is my "gone through" shelf, and there is a ton as well. If you are like me and do not want to throw away that magazine because it has a great recipe, or a great 10-minute abs of steal workout and just know that one day when you want to cook that amazing dinner or have time to do that ab workout you can flip through and find it. Well, as I have learned in the past, keeping all those magazines does not make it easy to just flip through and find that one article you are looking for if you have a shelf full, or in many of non-OCD people a pile or scattered throughout your house. Either way, if you have lots of magazines here is my tip to you, that I found to be amazing! Clip Clip Clip!! When you find that perfect workout or recipe or color scheme to re-do a room in your house, CUT IT OUT!! I went and got a large cork board for just $10 at Wal-mart. I started clipping out quick and easy recipes, workouts, decor ideas and placed them on the cork board in a few different columns. I stapled bright fun ribbon from top to bottom to separate the columns (any art store has great sales on ribbon) I spent $5 on 3 different colors and patterns. So cheap! I then labeled each column with its appropriate category and started pinning up my clippings! Also, if you are like me and don't have tons of time to sit down and clip out all your favorites, clip before bed, or while watching your favorite DVRed show, ask a friend to help over a glass of wine, or ladies ask your significant other to clip out some of his favs so you can do this together (it is a great way to find out different and new things about one another and it doesn't matter if you been married for years or just started dating). So.....after a while, my cork board was so colorful, motivating and almost inspiring, it was like art!  Once I am complete I am going to hang it up somewhere as an accent art piece! I am so excited. I even started clipping out new spring and summer trends and colors for fashion, just to give me an idea of what kinda of summer style I will be rocking this year! Be creative with it, it is all about YOU, so there is no right or wrong way! Have fun!

Until tomorrow....

Cleaning up your winter gear!

Hey guys! Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday thus far. I was cleaning around the house today getting ready to prepare for packing up my winter clothes, shoes and accessories and I was thinking what happens if I need that warm sweater on a chilly night in Spring and all my warmer clothes are all packed away? Ummmm.....How can I organize and put away these items so I can access the things I am storing away easily? Well the answer is easy. I ran up to the local Dollar General and grabbed a closet organizer for shoes for just $8!! You hang it up in your closet below shirts that are already hung up. So awesome! Ok, I got the shoes covered but what about all my scarves, which I will continue to wear until the humidity is just too much to handle (not until June) So I stopped by Lowes and got 2 separate hook hangers, each have upper and lower hooks. These were just under $10 a piece. I drilled them into a wall that had just enough space in my closet. Any closet you have, you can find space to do this. Now I have all my favorite light material scarves hanging, for easy access. So now onto sweaters, and hoodies, etc. I found these great cloth bins with lids at Walmart for just $9, so I grabbed two. One has all my extra sweaters and hoodies and the other one has all my jeans except for a couple that I will probably be wearing until June. They are a light tan with dark brown trim so if you don't have the extra closet space to store them in, you can stack them in your bedroom and make it look like an accent piece! Awesome right?!?! Hope these ideas helped you out like it helped me out! If you have any other ideas, comments and/or questions feel free to comment. I'd love to hear your feed back and/or questions! Have a great day.

Spring is just around the corner

As I was working in my office today, I couldn't help but to take a moment to step outside and enjoy the fresh Atlantic Ocean's breeze and warm sun. It got me thinking. Spring is just around the corner and you all know what that means?? Spring Cleaning!! Yes, spring cleaning is the perfect time to spruce up a room in your home that you have been thinking about all winter. This time of year is perfect open up your mind and let lots of color and light in! Don't be afraid of bright colors. Try starting out with something small like a throw blanket in bright yellow mixed with a bright blue accent pillow on your couch or bed. The next month I will be blogging about all the great attributes SPRING brings to life! Hope everyone has a great evening!

Until tomorrow......Crystal
